Michael Ryan is Professor-Researcher at Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He has held academic positions across five continents and led award-winning projects at the National Center for Health Statistics in Washington, D.C. He is co-author of The McDonaldization of Society 11th Edition, Introduction to Sociology 6th Edition, and COVID-19: Social Inequalities and Human Possibilities. Dr. Ryan is editor and co-editor of more than 15 volumes, including The Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Social Theory.
